HistoCore SPECTRA ST

The HistoCore SPECTRA ST is a high throughput bench-top automated
stand-alone slide stainer. Depending on the programs being run, an
average of 12 slide racks (each holding up to 30 slides) can be
processed simultaneously. Continuous rack loading/unloading, without
opening the instrument lid, is accomplished using motorized load/unload
drawers with 5 stations each. Of the 52 stations available, up to 6 can
be used as "rinse stations" with one or two water supplies. Multiple H
&E and special staining programs can be run simultaneously. Both,
programs validated by Leica Biosystems and customized programs can be
used. RFID labeled reagent kits recommended by Leica Biosystems are
required for H&E and special stain programs validated by Leica
Biosystems. The sophisticated reagent management system automatically
monitors the condition of all reagents (based on expiry date and number
of processed slides) and informs the operator when the reagents need
changing. Customized programs allow a free choice of protocols and
reagents.
Color-coded slide rack hangers with transponders allow fully automatic
selection of staining programs while a status screen displays all active
programs. Any waste-water tray overfill triggers an audible alarm and
the supply water valves close automatically. An integrated suction/fume
control system with an activated carbon filter reduces the user's
exposure to hazardous fumes.
The HistoCore SPECTRA ST is operated via a solvent-resistant color touch
screen. An easy-to-use and intuitive multi-language user interface
allows the operator to quickly become familiar with the instrument.
Selectable incubation periods (from 1 second up to 23 hours, 59 minutes,
59 seconds) and adjustable specimen agitation provide the flexibility
needed to match programs to staining requirements. Data can be saved and
re-loaded via a USB port.
A highly efficient, closed, hot air oven can dry up to 6 slide racks.
This streamlines workflows as slide drying can be integrated into the
staining process without any additional user interaction.
